Just to inject some life in to Pub in the Wood...

Went to the cinema to see Inception last week and was very disappointed. For all the hype surrounding it I honestly thought it was pretty poor.

Nice idea, just "overcooked" and lost in its own workings. By that I mean bizarre oddities which complicate the puzzle but are meaningless in themselves. In fact, it is summed up perfectly on screen when Ariadne asks, "Whose subconscious are we going into, exactly?"

10/10 for effects, 5/10 for storytelling.

Inception is one of the best films I've seen, in my opinion.

I believe the complications in the plot brilliantly blur the line between reality and consciousness, and tackles the whole concept of the architecture of the human mind better than no film I have seen before. The final frames really ties up the whole idea that reality is dictated by our consciousness quite well, as well as leaving the whole film open to individual interpretation; the kind of thing I like in films. Definitely up there with the like of Blade Runner for me, but I can see why people wouldn't like it. It's one of those Marmite films, through and through.
