Fasten your seat belts and start your engines! It's Grand Prix Go Karting time! This ride allows guests to get behind the wheel of a go-kart and is a real crowd puller for all the family.
Before you are allowed to drive you must listen to safety instructions and then you're good to go. Remember, double riders only! Take a seat in your go-kart, fasten your seat belt and wait for the go ahead. You are asked to take a quick brake check then you're off!
Up a stretch of straight track, around the first corner and straight onto an S bend. This will prove how good you really are at driving and a perfect opportunity to overtake someone! Around another long corner and back onto that straight stretch of track, it's time to put your foot down. The go-karts have a maximum speed of around 20mph.
Drivers have about 4 or 5 laps depending on the queue. On your 3rd or 4th lap you will be shown the checkered flag, signalling that you have one lap remaining. You will then be slowed down by radio frequency, allowing you to pull back in the pit stop. Did you come first?
Overall Grand Prix Go Karts are a very entertaining ride - if you're the driver that is, and offer a different experience than the other rides. Grand Prix Go Karts are sure off on the mark!
Grand Prix Go Karts were brought to the park before 1991 but an exact date is not yet known. There are usually four go karts on the track during each race and four more in the pit stop.
This attraction is certainly popular as queues can get longer than The Ultimate's! The cars have an average speed of 20mph and are petrol engined.
