• Try and visit on quiet days to get the most out of your day. See our opening dates page for details!

• Avoid visiting during school holidays and bank holiday weekends, the park can get very busy. Early July is extremely busy with school trips!

• Make sure you get there for opening time. The park is not too busy for the first hour. Remember to set off with plenty of time to arrive, there may be traffic jams!

• Bring some lose change, it may come in handy!

• Check the weather forecast before you leave and dress appropriately. There is no such thing as wrong weather; just wrong clothing!

• Use the park map to plan your day. Ensure you get time to enjoy all of the attractions.

• Arrange a meet-up point incase your group becomes separated.

• Plan when and where you’re going to eat. Food outlets get very busy during 12-2pm.

• Ride all the rides at the entrance first, as the rest of the park doesn’t open until 10:30am. This saves you backtracking later!

• Once the park fully opens head straight to Grand Prix Go Karts as they get very busy for the rest of the day.

• If you don't manage to beat the queues, leave Raptor Attack until the end of the day. You will save yourself a lot of waiting time.

• Put your litter in the bins! The less money LWV spends cleaning up after you, the more they can spend on new attractions.

• Talk to the park staff, they like a chat just as much as you!

• Be quiet during the Go Kart safety audio tape, yourself and others need to know this important information!

• If a ride has a large queue then leave it until the end of the day. The queues are a lot shorter as people make their way home.

• Remember the queues close first, not the ride.

• Ride as far back as possible on The Ultimate, the drops are way more impressive.

• Don’t go on the wet rides at the end of the day, you will have to travel back home in those clothes! Nobody likes a wet bum!

• Abide the park's rules. Never queue jump, you will be caught!

• Make sure your footwear is secure when going on rides!

• Do not throw away your ticket, it is proof that you have paid if suspicion arises.

• Buy gifts and merchandise at the end of the day, you don’t want to carry it around with you and leave it on ride platforms and stations!

• Have a look of your on-ride photographs, they can give you a good laugh!

• Take your time, let the majority visitors leave to avoid traffic jams.

• Grab a bite to eat so you are not hungry on the way home.

• Go to the toilets, you don’t want to stop when going home.

• Reflect on what has been a great day at Lightwater Valley!
